The Revolve is clearly a laptop that can pretend to be a tablet. The HP ElitePad 900 is an example of an Atom-powered tablet with laptoplike extras the EliteBook Revolve 810, on the other hand, is a more expensive, ultrabook-level performance device on par with the Surface Pro and a host of other laptops like the Yoga 11S and the ThinkPad Twist and Helix. ![]() It also happens to transform into a multitouch tablet, unlike other hybrids that are more like tablets that add separate keyboards to pretend to be laptops. The EliteBook Revolve isn't the Folio reborn, but it has a bit of that feel in a smaller 11.6-inch laptop. A similarly equipped convertible like the Fujitsu Lifebook T935 is about 200 Euros (~$224) cheaper.I remember the HP Folio 13 fondly: it was a compact business ultrabook that felt rock-solid and surprisingly comfortable. However, this comes at a high price: Almost 2,200 to 2,300 Euros (~$2467 and ~$2579) is the cost for our test device. We could not find any points of criticism concerning the display. The computer is fitted with a SIM card (prepaid) that works instantly. Thanks to the installed LTE modem, the device allows mobile access to the Internet or a corporate network. Usually the convertible runs quietly with minimum heat production. The models of the first generation of the EliteBook employed mSATA-SSDs. A much faster SSD in the M.2 format ensures a fast system. Not only do they allow more computing and graphics power but also significantly longer battery runtimes. The G3 models of the EliteBook are equipped with Broadwell processors. The keyboard is another point that is very appealing to us. You still receive a premium convertible that is made of metal. Hewlett Packard has refrained once again from changing the exterior of the third generation of the EliteBook Revolve 810. On the one hand, the latter is equipped with a very frugal (and significantly less powerful) Core M processor and on the other hand it has a bigger battery capacity at its disposal (Toshiba: 72 Wh, HP: 44 Wh). It is no surprise that the Broadwell EliteBook cannot compete with the Portégé. For instance, it lasts about 2 hours longer than the Haswell EliteBook in the WLAN test. The Broadwell processor allows significant runtime improvements in comparison to its sister and predecessor models. ![]() The Portégé (13:07 h) lasts longer.Īfter all, the EliteBook 810 Revolve G3 shows very good battery runtimes. The EliteBook achieved a runtime of 7:08 h. The radio modules are deactivated and the brightness set to around 150 cd/m 2. We measure video playback by running the short film Big Buck Bunny (H.264 coding, 1920x1080 pixels) in a continuous loop. The idle mode is tested with the Battery Eater Reader's Test: The screen is set to the lowest brightness level, the energy-saving profile is activated and all radio modules are disabled. Competitors such as the Toshiba Portégé Z20t-B-10C (26:56 h) last significantly longer.
